Applications for funded MA positions open now!
The Master of Arts program in Geography at the University of Missouri, where I got my own Master’s degree, is actively recruiting for next academic year. The program there is distinctive in that it offers a small-school feel with all the amenities of a large research university, providing students (like me!) with a top-flight educational experience supported by a high level of faculty interaction. The faculty offer advanced training in all areas of Geography, with programmatic strengths in human geography, indigenous geography, nature-society relationships the physical environment, and GIScience. I have been told that there are a number of fully funded half-time assistantship positions available, each one coming with a tuition waiver and subsidized health insurance.
I have attached some promotional materials for the program. If you are interested, please get in touch with the faculty member(s) you would like to work with. Dr. Matt Foulkes (firstname.lastname@example.org) is the Director of Graduate Studies, and he can provide you with a big-picture overview of the program, and help you with the application process. I am happy to talk more with you about your research interests and answer any questions you may have based on my experience there. The faculty can also help bring you on campus for a visit this fall or spring.
The application deadline is 15 January 2020, and all application materials can be found here: https://geography.missouri.edu/prospe…/master-arts-geography. The application process is straightforward and they recently eliminated the GRE requirement for admission, so it really is a easy to apply!
